Drug Awareness Training (level 2)

Duration

This is a 5 day course in which delegates are expected to work as individuals and within groups. Delegates are expected to deliver skills learnt on the course by way of group discussions, flip charts, role play, power point and will be assessed throughout the course with multi choice questionaires. There is an exam at the end of the course, with a minimum pass mark of 75% . This course is delivered as per Home Office guidelines on Drug and Alcohol Misuse in the Workplace. Aim of Course

On completion of this course delegates will have a greater understanding of the impact 'Drugs and Alcohol Misuse' has on society and within their organisation. They will be able to recognise and address Drug and Alcohol Misuse within the workplace and be able to offer 'best practice solutions' in order to achieve a safe and healthy working environment. They will also have the knowledge and skills to implement a Drug and Alcohol policy within the workplace in line with current legislation and best practice guidelines issued by the Home Office.

Suitability

This course is designed for those delegates who have managerial/supervisory roles within the workplace, or for those who work in the education sector and public sector who have specific responsibilities for policy decisions on health and safety issues (Drug and Alcohol Misuse) within their organisation. We recognise that all organisations are the same and that they have different needs, but one thing is common the 'health and safety' of the employee's. This course is flexible enough to cater for those varying needs, and the modular training it provides will have something for everyone, ensuring that Drug and Alcohol Misuse problems are identified and resolved as early as possible.

Pre-course Preparation

Knowledge of your own Organisations Drug and Alcohol Policy would be an advantage. Delegates should have a clear understanding of their role within own Organisation and be able to relate to this during group discussions. Useful pre reads - Misuse of Drugs Act 1971/Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974.

Course syllabus

Qualification and Certification

All delegates who successfully pass the course will be awarded a Drug Awareness Level 2 (advanced) Certificate. Delegates are expected to attain a minimum 75 % pass mark. (We have a 100 % pass rate with re-sits if necessary). The course content and modular style delivery is as per Home Office Guidelines.

Please note this particular course can be delivered in house or at one of our local Conference Centres. Level 2 courses require a minimum of 10 delegates and max of 30. Please contact us for course dates and availability.
