Aim of Course
On completion of the course, all delegates will have a greater understanding of the 'impact' Drugs Misuse has on society and in the workplace. They will also be able to recognise and have an understanding of the following:
- Controlled Drugs
- Packaging and associated paraphernalia
- Physical signs and symptoms of drugs misuse
- User/Dealer patterns
- Understand best practice when drugs/drug paraphernalia is found.
- Agencies that can help with Drugs Misuse problems
- Basic key elements of the law relating to Possession/Supply and allowing premises to be used
Suitability
This course is designed to introduce delegates to a range of Drug Misuse issues such as, how to recognise controlled drugs and associated paraphernalia, physical signs and symptoms of drugs misuse, user/dealer patterns, and safe handling of drugs and paraphernalia. This is an ideal course for individuals or organisations wishing to develop their knowledge and skills on how to both recognise and deal with Drug Misuse problems, and is particularly relevant to those with supervisory, managerial or pastoral care responsibilities.

- Recognition of controlled drugs
- Recognition of associated drug paraphernalia
- Safe handling of drugs and paraphernalia
- User/Dealer patterns
- The law with regards to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (key points)
- Best practice when drugs/drug paraphernalia found
- Long term effects of drugs misuse
- Other agencies that can help with drug misuse problems
Qualification and Certification
All delegates attending will be awarded a Drug Awareness Certificate recording their attendance on the Course
